Gaming programme:-The popularity of esports is on the rise, with colleges and universities around the country starting to offer scholarships for gaming programme or competitive video gaming. As the industry around competitive gaming grows, more and more students are looking to get involved in Esports. And while there are many great schools out there that offer strong Esports programs, we’ve compiled a list of our top 10 favorites and best esports colleges.

The fame of Esports has been exploding in recent years, with colleges and universities taking note. Dozens of institutions are now offering Esports scholarships and programs, preparing the next generation of players for professional careers in the field.

Colleges for the Best Esports and Gaming Programme: As the scope and popularity of esports expand, universities are developing indigenous and varsity programs to allow students to play in top events. While many programs are still in their early days, a few have already established themselves as a prime landing place for individuals looking to go from non-professional to professional.

A recent study by the American eSports Association reported that over 57% of college students play competitive video games. There are over 450 colleges and universities offering scholarships to gamers. There is no doubt that gaming is a popular pastime for many people in this day and age. However, not all schools have programs dedicated to competitive gaming.

Robert Morris University began giving scholarships to gamers in 2014 to assist the university in developing a competitive eSports team. Many universities have now followed suit. Scholarships for eSports have ranged from as high as $20,000 to as low as $2,000-$5,000 in value.

The National Association of Collegiate eSports (NACE) is aiming to bring collegiate eSports under the same umbrella that the NCAA does for college athletics. NACE now comprises 57 different schools with varsity-level esports programs.

That means that if you are a competitive gamer who is about to start college, you have an abundance of various options available to you that will allow you to pursue higher education while also assisting you in taking your gaming career to the next level.

The Best Esports Colleges

Formed on team talent, financial options, and student support, the top ten colleges with collegiate esports programs are listed below-

1. California State University, Irvine

UC Irvine was the primary public foundation to lay out an esports program, with groups contending in League of Legends, Over watch, and Super Smash Bros. Its groups are notable, having won the 2018 College League of Legends and playing in the principal Fiesta Bowl Over watch National Championships. Scholastic grants are given to competitors, similar to a help structure that incorporates mentors. UCI endeavors to associate its players with entry level positions and work in the gaming and esports ventures, facilitating occasions, board conversations, and offering organizing open doors for understudies and neighborhood gamers.

2. The University of Miami

The esports program, in Ohio, was formed in 2015 as the first national D1 varsity squad. It has varsity teams in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Hearthstone, League of Legends, Overwatch, Rainbow Six Siege, and Rocket League, as well as junior varsity teams in Call of Duty and Valiant. Michigan State University offers a comprehensive esports program to its students, including a variation of recreational and competitive teams. Competitive teams play Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Fortnite, League of Legends, Rainbow Six: Siege, Real-Time Strategy, Rocket League, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and Valiant. While many competitive teams have casual counterparts, digital collectible card games, fighting games, Halo, Magic of the Gathering, Pokémon, and rhythm games are examples of games with exclusively casual options. MSU also provides broadcasting and leadership chances for students who aren’t gamers, offering them the experience they need to pursue a career in esports outside of the competitive arena.

4. Maryville University

Maryville University has rapidly become the most popular brand in collegiate eSports after winning the League of Legends title at Dreamhack in 2016 and the League of Legends Collegiate Championship the year before. Their eSports program began in 2015, and they were among the first universities to provide eSports scholarships.

Varsity and Community Club are the two categories of the MU esports program. The varsity program expands elite collegiate talent from all around the world, including a three-time National Champion League of Legends team and a top-four nationally ranked Overwatch squad. The Overwatch squad won the Overwatch Collegiate Championship in April. To secure a position on the varsity team, players must try out. The Community Club is for students who wish to play CS: GO, Hearthstone, Rainbow Six Siege, and Rocket League in a competitive yet enjoyable setting.

5. Idaho State University

Competitive esports is an authorized varsity activity at Boise State for undergraduate and graduate students. The University of Idaho’s esports department competes in the National Association of Collegiate Esports (NACE) with teams taking part in League of Legends, Overwatch Rocket League, and Valiant. sports, a free two-week stay-at-home summer program for high school gamers, is also held there. Sports educates participants to different occupations in the gaming business and assists students in outlining an academic path that will enable them to achieve professional goals in the area.

6. Robert Morris University

In 2014, Robert Morris University became the first institution in the US to provide scholarships to League of Legends players, establishing the school’s varsity eSports Gaming program. RMU has grown into a powerhouse by becoming one of the first to accept eSports as a varsity program. They now compete in a variety of titles such as League of Legends, CS: GO, Hearthstone, Overwatch, and DOTA2.

RMU’s esports program is perhaps the most usable in the country, with groups taking an interest in most of well known computer game titles, for example, League of Legends, Rocket League, Hearthstone, Madden, Overwatch, Call of Duty, CS: GO, Rainbow Six Siege, Super Smash Bros., and Valiant. The school was one of the first in the country to begin a varsity esports program, and it presents player’s grants esteem up to half of educational cost and half of the food and lodging every year.

7. Harrisburg University

Interestingly, Harrisburg’s esports program is the university’s first and only varsity sport. The program, known as the Harrisburg University Storm, features teams for League of Legends, Overwatch, and Hearthstone. Students who make the varsity squad get full academic scholarships and a housing allowance, as well as the opportunity to compete for prize pools of up to $50,000.

8. Winthrop University

10. University of Toronto

The University of Toronto esports serves as a nexus for all gaming communities and esports teams on campus. League of Legends, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Melee, Overwatch, and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is among the teams (CS: GO). Several sports league, including FIFA, NBA2K, and the NHL, are sponsored by the UTSC Athletics and Recreation Department. The team usually competes in local tournaments like the Ontario Esports League, the Collegiate Star League, and other related online tournaments.
